Mos Def Talks About Pac
"To truly understand Pac, you have to understand the Panther movement. The movement was purposely destroyed, and a lot of the Panthers’ families lives were destroyed. It didn’t just hit adults, but also children. Pac was one of those children. He was coming up out of a movement that was so dedicated and so strong, but lost. And in a lot of instances, in any war or tragedy, the people everyone talks about least, and last, are the children. People who were friends weren’t friends no more. A lot of people went to jail. A lot of people died, or were murdered. A lot of people just went crazy. And he was left to deal with that. as were most of the kids in the Panthers. That’s what Pac represented. It’s true he represented the best in human potential, but also represented a child at war: a child who grew into a man.
Coming from those circumstances, how much different would any of us be? How would we have grown up? Would we even have gotten as far as Pac did?”
I personally think that Tupac and Mos Def are both great MC’s but they are different than the rest, they have a message for the people and that’s why they are amazing persons
